Year 7 went MADD

Our Make a Difference Day (MADD) tradition continued this year, with all Year 7 students participating in this highly anticipated event. Since its inception in 2003, MADD has provided an opportunity for students to raise funds for charities of their choice while developing key life skills.
The event took place on the last full day of term, with the Year 7s running stalls during lunch. Each form chose a charity to support, designed and prepared games and prizes, and took charge of their stalls to raise as much money as possible. From planning to execution, the students were responsible for every aspect of the day, fostering creativity, teamwork, and organisational skills.
This year’s charities were:
7B – Cancer Care
7D – Red Cross
7K – RSPCA
7L- Cancer Research
MADD forms part of our Citizenship programme, which encourages all Dallam students to become active, engaged members of their communities.
“MADD helps our students understand the importance of giving back and making a positive impact,” explained PSHCE coordinator Mrs Dunne.
“It’s a chance for them to connect with the wider world and see how their actions can make a real difference.”
The event raised £399.30! We’ll add the Christmas Jumper Day donations to this total and split it across the four charities.
Thanks to all Year 7 participants and to the school community for their ongoing support of MADD. Together, we can make a difference!
