Students show mathematical courage and success in UKMT Challenges
At Dallam School, we are proud to celebrate the courage and determination shown by our students in the recent UKMT Maths Challenges. A number of our Year 9 and Year 10 students recently took part in the UKMT Intermediate Mathematical Challenge, a nationally recognised competition that tests mathematical reasoning, precision, and problem-solving skills.
This challenge is designed to stretch and challenge high-attaining mathematicians, and our students truly rose to the occasion. We are thrilled to report a number of excellent results across the group. A special congratulations goes to Lanni Kerr, who was awarded a Gold Certificate and recognised as Best in School—an outstanding achievement that reflects both talent and tenacity.
Following in their footsteps, our Year 7 and Year 8 students completed the Junior Mathematical Challenge just last week. These younger students demonstrated similar levels of focus and resilience, and we now eagerly await the results of their efforts.
The UKMT (United Kingdom Mathematics Trust) competitions are an exciting opportunity for students to apply their mathematical knowledge in new and demanding contexts. We are proud of all participants for taking on the challenge with such positivity and courage—living out our school values and showing just how far a love of learning can take you.
