Primary pupils step into the shoes of global leaders at Dallam

Primary pupils step into the shoes of global leaders at Dallam

We’ve proudly hosted pupils from Storth, Beetham, Holme and Milnthorpe primary schools for a very special event: Peace, Trust and the World – Be a United Nations Ambassador.

Step up to Dallam

This event was part of our Step Up to Dallam programme. Year 5 pupils were invited to imagine themselves as world leaders, representing different countries in a mock United Nations session. Their task? To work together and create a Peace and Trust Charter for 2025, marking the UN’s International Year of Peace and Trust.

Subjects

The day encouraged conversations about politics, religion, geography and history. We explored these subjects through the lens of cooperation and understanding. Our young people had the chance to develop big ideas about how to make the world a fairer, more peaceful place.

Student feedback

Here’s what some Year 5’s said: my favourite bit of the day was…

“collaborating with other schools,” “going on stage,” “when we said our speeches” and “meeting people and working as a team!”

Get involved

We loved seeing the energy and creativity Storth, Beetham, Holme and Milnthorpe primary schools brought to the table. It was fantastic to watch them step up and share their own views.

Events like this are a big part of how we support our local primary schools and help young learners feel excited about the next stage of their journey. Thank you to everyone who took part. Enquire about our Step Up to Dallam programme for your primary school here.
