External review confirms progress at Dallam
We’re pleased to share that Dallam School has recently undertaken a thorough external review in partnership with the South Lakes Federation. The review reflects on Ofsted feedback and the significant steps we’ve taken since the last inspection visit.
The review highlights our progress in key areas, including:
- Teaching and Learning (p.3): Staff development, stronger lesson engagement, and effective assessment strategies are enhancing teaching and learning.
- Reading and Literacy (p.4): Targeted support through Step & Leap and the new Bedrock Literacy programme for older students is boosting reading and literacy.
- Behaviour and School Culture (p.5): Our STAR framework and structured lesson support is helping to ensure a respectful and focused learning environment.
- Pastoral Support (p.6): We are improving attendance strategies and using our students’ voices to shape decisions for our school.
There’s still work to do, and we are committed to the next stage of our journey. We are continuing to refine assessment strategies, embed consistent behaviour expectations, and strengthen support for all students.
If you would like to discuss the review in more detail, please contact our Headteacher, Mr Henneberry, via the Head’s PA; j.mulholland@dallamschool.co.uk.
Thank you for your continued support as we work together to make Dallam a place where every student thrives.
