Dallam receives award for charity outreach
We are award winning!
As part of Year 7’s transition process into our Dallam community, students were introduced to ‘A Long Walk to Water’ by Linda Sue Park. Year 7 students read the book before starting with us in September and then their first three lessons in all subjects were based on its themes. The story takes place in South Sudan, with two simultaneous stories following the lives of Nya and Salva.
The charity Water for South Sudan was founded by Salva after his father became unwell from drinking contaminated water. This charity now helps his community access better water, sanitation and hygiene practices.
Our Year 7 team set up a fundraiser to contribute towards this great cause and our efforts have been recognised: Dallam School is the IGC 2025 Hygiene Sponsorship Winner.
