Dallam Futures Day

It is important to us that our students can explore pathways to help them make informed choices about their next steps.
The Year 11 Dallam Futures Day offered students a real insight into potential post-16 pathways. Students could choose between attending a Dallam Sixth Form Taster Day or a Lancaster and Morecambe College Day whilst in school.
The Dallam Sixth Form Taster Day allowed students to sample a variety of A Level and BTEC subjects delivered by our subject specialist teachers. In lessons, there was an introduction to the course as well as a variety of engaging activities. Students also experienced the Sixth Form Centre and the Sixth Form Canteen. The event allowed students to be more informed about our application process, the curriculum we offer and the vast support we can provide students during their time at Sixth Form. Students could choose whichever subjects appealed to them for this day, giving the real-life experience of a Year 12 student.
Students who apply to Sixth Form will have a further taster day in the summer term where they will try out their chosen subjects to prepare them for transitioning into Sixth Form. All subjects can be found here:

The Lancaster and Morecambe Taster Day gave students insight into the college offers available in our area. Tutors provided subject tasters in sport, hairdressing, travel and air cabin crew, health and social care, engineering, and child education. Students who opted for this day moved around various subjects in groups.
