Creative Arts Summer Concert

Creative Arts Summer Concert

On Thursday 20 June, we were treated to the Dallam School Summer Concert.

Thank you to everyone who attended the evening, I know that the football was on as well and from what I’ve heard, I know you had a far better evening watching our students than the England team!

Our Year 11 and Year 13 students’ artwork was on proud display, we can’t share pictures of this with you but those who saw it have seen first-hand how talented so many of our students are, there was truly stunning work being exhibited.

We are all incredibly proud of what the students delivered. The Drama Club delivered an amazing performance of The 3 (eight) Little Pigs, which was co-directed by Mr Johnson and Leon, with hair and make up by Miss Feben. Who knew that pigs could build houses out of pink diamonds!?

We heard amazing performances from a whole host of students, and it was great to see Tom and Ellyn in Year 11 return for one last time to perform before they leave us at the end of the year.

The band were ably supported by Mrs Hughes on violin whilst they performed Yesterday and Bright Eyes, the latter being a piece that I think we are all going to be pleased we don’t need to rehearse again for a long time!

Evie’s piano performance of a self-composed piece was delivered with aplomb and I can’t wait to see what you come up with next – I know you’re already working on something for the Christmas Concert which I am looking forward to hearing as you develop it.

The evening was rounded off with a performance of Kander’s All That Jazz from Chicago by Faith, which was another incredible performance, delivered with maturity and fantastic characterisation!

Again, a huge thanks goes out to all of the students who took part, parents/carers for your continued support both by attending the concert and by encouraging your children throughout the school year. Without your support, none of this would be possible!

I’d also like to give thanks to Mrs Stansfield, Mr. Johnson,  Miss Cooper, Miss Feben and Mrs Hennessy-Garside for your support on the night and throughout the year. These things aren’t easy to organise, but your supports means that we continue to offer the very best experiences for Dallam Students.
